Nominated FIN-TASTIC Stars

Dudas, Kim, PhD • Associate Professor of Nursing and Dean of the School of Professions USCB would not be “functioning” this Fall 2020 semester, had it not been for the supreme dedication and leadership of Kim in multiple, simultaneous arenas of need.

Moonen, Mary • USCB Bursar (Dept. of Finance and Operations)

Mary has been commended for putting our students at ease and tirelessly working extra hours, even on weekends, to disperse their housing and dining refunds during the economic uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. She also works with each student individually to come up with a payment plan that will work best for their particular situation. A student described Mary’s dedication on Facebook. “She is always so kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful! She listens and has such a caring, sweet personality. Even though she isn’t a professor, she always makes the time to talk to you and makes sure you understand anything you might have trouble with- or just anything in general!”

Vargo, Lori • Director of eLearning and Adjunct Faculty in Communications (Dept. of Social Sciences)

Lori dedicates considerable energy, time and talent to ensure that the pandemic does not detract from quality online teaching by building and delivering Getting Ready to Teach Online to dozens of faculty members, and by being a wonderful, accessible resource for all things related to online delivery.
