Teachers already dreaming about summer break will be happy to know that the University of South Carolina Beaufort has once again received a $200,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) to fund its summer institute “America’s Reconstruction: The Untold Story.” This three week program is an opportunity for professional development for K-12 educators presented by USCB’s Institute for the Study of the Reconstruction Era (ISRE)
USCB’s summer enrichment program was designed to encourage pursuit of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields, increase problem-solving and analytical skills, and build math skills for college and the workplace while expanding understanding of mathematics.
Teachers from around the U.S. will take a dynamic deep dive into the history of the Reconstruction Era through a three-week summer institute hosted virtually by University of South Carolina Beaufort’s Institute for the Study of the Reconstruction Era (ISRE).
